“The most censorship-resistant network on Earth is already built: let’s use the billions of phones in everyone’s pockets.” That’s our Principal Engineer @ben_a_adams at Devcon. Today, running an Ethereum validator means keeping a machine online around the clock. Ben proposes a design where a phone can be a validator too: it sleeps most of the day and does small checks when it wakes up. The first test: a phone sleeps for a week, wakes up, catches up with the chain, does one job and goes back to sleep.
