[Hong Kong Financial Services and the Treasury Deputy Secretary: Tax Incentives for Funds and Single-Family Offices to be Expanded; Digital Assets and Precious Metals to be Included] Odaily Planet Daily reports that Hong Kong's Deputy Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Chan Ho-lim, stated at a Legislative Council Finance Committee meeting, in response to a briefing from the Financial Services Development Council, that Hong Kong will further optimize its preferential tax regime for funds, single-family offices, and attached interests. This includes expanding the scope of the tax exemption regime to cover large-scale single-investor funds and covering more eligible investments, such as loans and private debt investments, digital assets, and precious metals. Once the relevant amendment bill is passed, the measures can be implemented from the 2025/26 tax year. Chan Ho-lim also stated that Hong Kong's Central Gold Clearing and Settlement System will be officially launched in the first quarter of next year, providing efficient and reliable clearing services for international standard over-the-counter gold trading.
