[HKEX Q3 Report: Launch of First ETF Investing in Both Bitcoin and Gold Futures, Net Profit Unexpectedly Declines]
Odaily Planet Daily reports that Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) released its quarterly results for the nine months ended September 30, 2026. The report disclosed a continued expansion of its exchange-traded products, with 25 new products launched during the quarter, a record high, including the launch of its first multi-asset actively managed ETF investing in both gold futures and physical Bitcoin. However, HKEX's overall performance unexpectedly declined, ending a trend of record-breaking quarters driven by a wave of technology and AI company IPOs. Net profit fell 1% year-on-year to HK$4.9 billion, lower than the average analyst expectation of HK$5.03 billion; core business revenue remained largely flat at HK$7.47 billion.
HKEX Chief Executive Officer, Chen Yiting, stated that facing rising macroeconomic uncertainties and continued market volatility, HKEX will continue to firmly promote the construction of a deeper and more diversified multi-asset ecosystem.
