[Gate Officially Launches Margin Trading and Short Selling Functionality for Stocks] Gate has announced the official launch of its margin trading and short selling functionality for stocks, allowing users to participate in the stock market through margin buying and short selling, enabling leveraged trading and two-way operations (long and short). This upgrade breaks through the traditional stock trading model that relies on self-owned funds and is primarily long-only, thereby expanding the scope of stock investment strategies and capital utilization. It also marks a significant step forward for Gate TradFi in the fields of stock trading, lending, and margin management. Currently, users can experience the relevant functions through the Gate web client, and the app will provide support in version v8.43.0 and above. After the launch of the margin trading and short selling function, users can borrow USDT to expand the scale of stock purchases, build larger positions with less self-owned funds, and improve capital utilization efficiency. At the same time, they can also borrow eligible stocks to sell, conduct short selling transactions, or hedge position risks when the market declines. For users familiar with leveraged trading in crypto assets, this feature extends margin trading to the traditional stock market. Users can participate in stock margin trading through Gate's existing account system without needing to open a separate traditional brokerage account, enabling more flexible multi-market asset allocation. In terms of product functionality, the Gate stock trading page adds a margin trading icon and related data display. Users can directly view the supported trading directions, margin requirements for long and short positions, available margin buying and short selling quotas, as well as the borrowing and lending quantities and the reference interest rate for short selling. When placing an order, the system will display relevant information through a secondary confirmation pop-up. After a transaction, orders and positions can be viewed in the order list and position list respectively, allowing users to easily understand the trading situation and margin requirements. The margin trading support range for different stocks is subject to the actual page display. Regarding account management, Gate adds a function to query margin liabilities and interest records, allowing users to view information such as USDT borrowing status, margin trading fees, and remaining liquidity ratio. Users can transfer USDT from their trading account to their stock account via the funds transfer function, and automatically repay margin loans once the account has available funds, simplifying the lending management process. In addition, both the stock trading homepage and account page have a margin lending switch, which is off by default, but users can choose to enable it. If there are any outstanding margin lending positions or incomplete orders, repayment, securities repayment, or cancellation of the relevant orders must be completed before the function can be disabled. This upgrade expands the service boundaries of Gate TradFi's stock trading, extending traditional stock trading to margin lending, securities lending, and long/short strategy management. Combining existing products such as stocks, ETFs, stock contracts, gold, stock indices, and forex CFDs, Gate is gradually building a comprehensive trading system covering multiple asset classes, multiple trading directions, and diversified investment strategies. In the future, Gate will continue to deepen the integration of traditional finance and digital asset trading services, improve cross-market fund management and trading infrastructure, and provide global users with a more efficient, flexible, and diversified asset trading experience. How to use the stock margin lending function?
