[iOS Exploitation Tool DarkSword Has Caused Crypto Users to Lose $5.57 Million; Changpeng Zhao Urges Timely System Updates] According to warnings from multiple security researchers and key opinion leaders (KOLs), the iOS exploit tool DarkSword poses a serious threat to crypto users. This vulnerability exploits a fundamental flaw in iOS 18. Users only need to open an infected website through Safari, and malicious code can run in the background without connecting to a wallet or requiring any signature authorization. Attackers can use this to steal passwords, photos, files, and private keys and mnemonic phrases from encrypted wallets. At least 18 malicious websites have been discovered, resulting in losses of up to $5.57 million and involving more than 20 wallets. Changpeng Zhao commented that users should update their iOS systems, especially if they haven't updated in a while. He stated that no wallet software can update your operating system for you; self-management means taking responsibility for your actions.
