[Tom Lee Criticizes AI Panic: Reality is Far Less Terrible Than Imagined, Pessimistic Expectations Overstated] Odaily Planet Daily reports that Tom Lee, Chairman of Ethereum treasury Bitmine, shared an analysis of Texas data center policy. Texas Governor-elect Gina Hinojosa has stated that all currently licensed data center projects can continue construction, expected to cover the entire year of 2027 and most of 2028. This is not entirely consistent with her previous policy of suspending new data center approvals until legislation establishes protective measures. In response, Tom Lee expressed skepticism about the AI panic, arguing that market pessimism and concerns about potential risks related to artificial intelligence are severely exaggerated. He believes the reality is far less dire than portrayed, and the current negative sentiment surrounding AI is significantly out of sync with reality. Market concerns about AI development may have exceeded the actual risks themselves. Yesterday, the US stock market saw a broad sell-off across the AI supply chain, with the decline extending from chips and storage to data center network equipment, optical communications, AI cloud computing, and power suppliers. Asian stock markets subsequently fell sharply, following the overnight sell-off in US stocks.
