[MetaMask Discloses Unauthorized Access to Infrastructure, Only a Small Amount of Staking Rewards Transferred]
BlockBeats reported on November 6th that MetaMask released a security incident update on November 5th, stating that on September 28th, some of its infrastructure suffered unauthorized access. Attackers transferred approximately 0.385 ETH staking rewards by modifying the reward receiving addresses of some Ethereum validators.
MetaMask stated that the issue was resolved that same day, and all affected Ethereum validators have now completed their exit process. This incident caused temporary delays in withdrawals for some customers and may result in a loss of staking rewards. MetaMask emphasized that there is currently no evidence that user wallets, private keys, or customer staking principal were compromised or withdrawn without authorization. [Original Link]
