[White House Reviewing SEC Proposal to Revise Crypto Broker Rules] According to Bloomberg, the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is reviewing a proposal from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regarding how brokers should conduct digital asset business. The proposal was submitted earlier this week. An SEC spokesperson stated that the SEC expects to consider a proposal to revise the financial responsibilities, record-keeping, and reporting requirements for broker-dealers to clarify how these rules apply to crypto assets. In addition, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) also submitted another proposal to the OMB this week to strengthen consumer protections in prediction markets.
