Regardless, I pressed the buy button myself. When someone introduces a stock, their initial intention is usually good; they're generally sharing their profits, not bragging.
However, the problem is that this sharing usually happens when the market is at its peak. Buying at that point means taking over the losses. Even if you wait for a pullback to the right side of the chart before buying, you'll likely be stuck with the losses for a long time.
Actually, I have the same problem when sharing CRCL with others, but I usually only recommend buying when the price drops. I try not to mention it when it's rising because I've already been criticized too much.
If I had stayed within my circle of competence this year, focusing on stocks like Moutai, Tencent, and CRCL, I probably would have lost less money. I was lucky enough to profit from the first two waves of Soxl, but I completely missed this one.
If my previous buying logic was wrong, Anthropic's profitability and Soxl's price fluctuations might not be directly related. Good news for the semiconductor industry doesn't guarantee this ETF will rise because its index components might not cover the needs of end-consumer companies. A favorable industry doesn't necessarily mean a good industry ETF.
You still need to understand each constituent stock and its weighting in the industry ETF.
Furthermore, even if you understand the ETF, leveraged ETFs don't guarantee profits.
Progress always comes at a price. In investing, there's no such thing as "listening to all sides is always wise."
Everyone has their own circle of competence. What someone says is right only for them; it might be poison for you.
To make money, communicate less; to lose money, communicate more.
