[OpenAI Releases Cybersecurity Model GPT-6 Cyber, Initially Available to Select Customers] OpenAI announced on its X platform the release of its cybersecurity research model, GPT-6 Cyber. This model boasts enhanced capabilities and superior alignment performance. Previously published research on Linux kernel vulnerabilities was conducted using this model, and security teams at companies such as Mozilla, Palo Alto Networks, and Cisco are already using it. Currently, GPT-6 Cyber is only available to a select group of Daybreak Red customers, with access to be gradually expanded. According to Fortune and CyberScoop, OpenAI claims that this model outperforms GPT-6 Astra in most cybersecurity tasks, having discovered at least 81 previously unknown high-risk vulnerabilities in Firefox and developed usable exploits for 948 Linux kernel vulnerabilities.
