[Analysis: Some of Binance's Stolen Funds Have Flowed into Chinese Money Laundering Networks] According to Bloomberg, blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis stated that the hackers involved in the $6.3 billion Binance theft are transferring some of the stolen assets through Chinese money laundering networks (including over-the-counter trading platforms). Several hundred thousand dollars have already been traced into these networks, representing only a small portion of the total stolen amount, indicating that the hackers are attempting to cash out the funds. Chainalysis data shows that the hackers have transferred approximately $500 million through the TRON network, distributing it to over 1,000 addresses before transferring it to Ethereum, Bitcoin, and other networks. Currently, crypto companies have frozen approximately $3 billion of the stolen assets, with approximately $2.42 billion in BTC and ETH remaining virtually untouched since the theft, while the remaining nearly $1 billion has begun entering money laundering channels. A Binance spokesperson stated that they are cooperating with law enforcement, on-chain analytics firms, and stablecoin issuers to track and freeze related assets.
