[Citi Wealth Management Begins Promoting Spot Bitcoin ETFs to Clients]
According to a report by Bitcoin News on the X platform, Odaily, Citi Wealth Management is currently promoting spot Bitcoin ETFs to its clients. A report released by Citi in October described such ETFs as a way to hold Bitcoin through a brokerage account, alongside stocks and bonds.
In the two trading days following the Binance hack, US spot Bitcoin ETFs saw outflows of approximately $1 billion. Citi had previously promised to launch its Custody+ Bitcoin custody service for institutions "later this year," but has not yet announced a specific date. Matthew Sigel of VanEck stated that he heard the hack delayed the service's launch; Citi has not confirmed this claim.
