[Tesla Falls Over 8%, SpaceX Falls Nearly 6%, Texas, Musk's Business Stronghold, Turns Blue for the First Time in History] Golden Finance reports that on November 5th, Musk's companies continued their downward trend from the previous day, with Tesla falling over 8% and SpaceX falling nearly 6%. On the news front, Texas, Musk's business stronghold, saw a historic "turn blue," with Republican Governor Greg Abbott, who has long maintained close cooperation with Musk and provided him with favorable policy treatment, losing. Democrat Gina Hinojosa was successfully elected as Texas's first Democratic governor in over 30 years. This not only means that Musk's record-breaking expenditure of at least $474 million in this midterm election has gone down the drain, but also raises concerns in the market about the future of Tesla and SpaceX. It is reported that Governor-elect Hinojosa had previously taken legal action to demand the release of emails between the Abbott administration and Musk, accusing the former governor of "selling out Texas interests," and explicitly advocating for an immediate halt to the approval of new data centers, the elimination of tax breaks, and even the enactment of comprehensive community and power grid protection legislation. Furthermore, Musk's business interests in Texas are also facing a re-evaluation. The local environmental quality committee had previously approved SpaceX’s permit to discharge wastewater into wetlands near Starbase under the current chairman Brooke Paup’s tenure. It is widely expected that the new governor’s nominee will review SpaceX’s environmental impact with stricter standards and reassess related tax breaks and subsidy agreements.
