FED'S HAMMACK CALLS FOR GRADUAL RATE HIKES AS INFLATION MOVES IN WRONG DIRECTION
Federal Reserve official Beth Hammack says US monetary policy needs to become more restrictive, warning that inflation remains too high and is moving in the wrong direction.
Hammack argues that gradual interest-rate increases offer the best path back to the Fed's 2% inflation target, while minimizing disruption to the economy and financial system.
She also emphasized the importance of Fed independence and expressed confidence in the US dollar's global reserve-currency status.(彭博社)
