[Polygon Proposal to Integrate Security Committee, Unify 8/11 Multisignature Threshold, and Introduce 7-Day Time Lock] Foresight News reports that the Polygon community has released Proposal PIP-93, proposing to integrate the multisignature processes managed by the Protocol Committee, Polygon PoS, and the AggLayer/zkEVM Security Committee into a unified security committee, adopting an 8/11 multisignature threshold across Ethereum and Polygon. The proposal is currently in draft form. According to the proposal, the new committee will consist of 11 signatories from 10 organizations, with Polygon Labs holding two seats and the remaining organizations each holding one. The proposal intends to only publish the list of member organizations, no longer disclosing the identities and addresses of individual signatories, to reduce the risk of social engineering attacks and coercion. Routine upgrades and administrative changes can be submitted by Polygon Labs-operated multisignature with a 5/9 threshold, and executed after a 7-day time lock, without requiring signatures from the security committee for each item. The security committee reserves the right to veto transactions during the time lock, bypass the time lock to immediately execute changes, and resume suspended contracts. Polygon Labs-operated multisignature can suspend contracts, but cannot bypass the time lock to execute upgrades or resume contracts.
