TopNod Wallet launches Axil Pot, a product based on the concept of an "on-chain Yu'ebao" (a popular money market fund in Taiwan): allowing idle USDC to participate in real-world consumer credit, targeting an annualized return of approximately 8%.
Axil Pot runs on Pharos, a public chain founded by the former Ant Financial team and focusing on RWA (Real-Time Welfare and Credit Application), accessible through the TopNod Wallet. Previous collaborations with Binance Wallet and OKX Wallet are also a plus.
Having previously worked in investment banking responsible for non-standard investments and product design, I'm particularly interested in the underlying assets and cash flow of these products. Putting idle USDC in to earn some returns sounds simple, but to actually participate, you need to understand: Where is the money invested? Who pays the returns? What risks are involved? When can you withdraw your funds? Who is responsible if problems arise?
1️⃣ Where is the money invested, and who pays the returns?
Axil Pot (APT) is a USDC yield pool managed by AXIL. Its underlying assets consist of money market funds leveraged by Axil, highly liquid assets, and micro-loans from emerging markets, all backed by real-world business operations. The micro-loans generate a closed cash flow from borrowers' installment interest and actual repayments, thus paying the pool's yields.
Axil is responsible for selecting partner institutions, allocating strategies, and managing risk. According to its website, team members have backgrounds at institutions such as BlackRock, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, CICC Capital, and Ant Group. As officially disclosed, APT does not reinvest deposited USDC into other DeFi yield pools, nor does it engage in revolving lending or leverage. The ability to consistently generate yields depends primarily on the quality of the underlying loans and repayment performance. The fact that the yields are supported by real-world business operations is a key factor in its success.
Basic Information:
1. Deposit USDC to hold APT representing a share of the pool.
2. Target annualized yield of approximately 8%, variable and not guaranteed.
3. T+0 withdrawals are supported within available liquidity and daily limits; the standard withdrawal path is T+1 to T+7.
4. Participation is through the @Top_nod wallet, utilizing the @R25Official vault infrastructure, with recording and settlement on the Pharos @pharos_network.
2️⃣ Risk Points and Risk Control.
APT represents vault shares; its value fluctuates with asset performance and is not guaranteed to be fixed at $1.
Compared to products that primarily generate returns through on-chain lending, trading, or token incentives, the high-yield interest-bearing assets in Axil Pot rely more heavily on real-world loan repayments. Therefore, the focus should be on borrowers' repayment ability, the reliability of partner institutions, and the recovery of funds in case of problems.
Another factor is the time lag: loans are gradually repaid, while users may simultaneously apply for withdrawals. The vault is equipped with assets such as cash, money market funds, and short-term credit, but immediate withdrawals are still limited by available cash and daily limits; concentrated redemptions may require waiting.
Axil previously managed similar three-month assets with an annualized return of approximately 12%+ and assets under management of around $100 million USD, and so far, operations have been running smoothly.
Following the official instructions, a comprehensive due diligence process was conducted on the funding path:
1) Funds flow through segregated accounts to separate them from other business funds of partner institutions.
2) Lending institutions undergo due diligence and continuous monitoring.
3) Investment in any single institution or market is capped to prevent excessive concentration.
4) Funds flow from the vault through segregated accounts to approved consumer credit institutions, and return to the vault after consumer repayment. During this period, funds are not reinvested in other DeFi yield pools, nor are they used for revolving lending or leverage.
Overall, in summary:
I believe a major feature and innovation of this product is that it brings real-world consumer credit onto the blockchain.
The returns from this consumer credit portion come from the actual interest paid by borrowers, which differs from common collateralized lending, revolving lending, or on-chain strategies in the cryptocurrency space.
This makes RWA concrete: USDC is deposited, participation is in real-world consumer lending, and the returns are generated by the business itself.
