[US Stocks Diverge in Pre-Market Trading, Restaurant Companies Report Mixed Results] According to Investor's Business Daily, on November 5th, US stocks saw mixed pre-market trading in major index futures after a significant rise in the previous trading day, with the market focusing on restaurant company earnings reports and upcoming employment data.
Cava's revenue and earnings both fell short of market expectations due to the Cyclospora outbreak and rising operating costs. Dutch Bros.' third-quarter revenue and earnings exceeded expectations, but same-store sales growth slowed, and the company lowered its full-year adjusted EBITDA guidance. Ad tech company AppLovin, however, reported better-than-expected third-quarter results.
The report cited Econoday data, stating that the market expected initial jobless claims in the US for the week to be 196,000, compared to 194,000 the previous week.
