Police stated that the group used platforms such as Telegram, QQ Chat, and Soul to lure Chinese victims with romantic relationships and false promises, guiding them to participate in transactions on a fictitious cryptocurrency exchange, promising high returns. The amount of money lost by the victims is still under investigation. Police seized 12 laptops, 1 desktop computer, 26 mobile phones, and 1 router at the scene, valued at approximately RM50,000. The 13 suspects have been detained until November 8th to assist with the investigation.
