Wu learned that the Thai Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced on November 5th that it had filed a complaint with the Economic Crime Investigation Department against BG Limited, the operating entity of the cryptocurrency exchange Bitget, accusing it of operating a digital asset trading business in Thailand without a license. The SEC also notified the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society to block the Bitget website, related domains, and applications starting December 5th. The Thai SEC stated that Bitget provided trading services to local users from 2022 to 2025 through a Thai-language website, Thai baht pricing, and social media promotion. Furthermore, a local individual who assisted in promoting Bitget was also reported.
