[Claude Code Product Lead Joins OpenAI, Another Key Player Lost by Anthropic Rival] BlockBeats reports that on November 5th, Cat Wu (Catherine Wu), former product lead for Claude Code and Cowork at Anthropic, announced on social media that she will be joining OpenAI as the head of product management for core products. Cat Wu stated that she greatly admires OpenAI because it has proven to the world that the "law of scaling works," bringing AI to over a billion people, and firmly believes that great products are at the heart of its mission. She will be working with Tibo Sottiaux, head of core products and platforms at OpenAI, to develop AI agents for individuals and teams. Tibo subsequently publicly welcomed her to the company. Cat previously worked with Claude Code creator Boris Cherny to develop Claude Code from an internal tool into a popular AI programming product. OpenAI's Codex is its direct competitor.
