[Google's November Security Bulletin Fixes Over 200 Vulnerabilities, Including a Critical Zero-Click Remote Code Execution Flaw; Android Users Need to Upgrade Immediately] BlockBeats reports that on November 5th, Google released its November 2026 Android security bulletin, fixing over 200 vulnerabilities. The most serious is CVE-2026-58868 (Critical), a heap buffer overflow-induced out-of-bounds write vulnerability located in the `onOutputReceived` function of `FrameDecoder.cpp`. This vulnerability allows attackers to remotely execute arbitrary code without user interaction or additional privileges, a typical zero-click attack. Successful exploitation could give attackers complete control of the affected device. Google has not confirmed any in-the-wild exploits or publicly available proof-of-concept (PoC). Affected versions include Android 14, 15, 16, 16 QPR2, and 17. The patch will be rolled out in two tiers: * **Security Patch Level ≥ 2026-11-01:** Includes fixes for Framework and System components such as CVE-2026-58868; * **Security Patch Level ≥ 2026-11-05:** Covers all vulnerabilities in this round, including kernel and chip-level issues from MediaTek, Qualcomm, and other manufacturers. SlowMist CISO 23pds states that if this vulnerability is exploited in the wild, the impact will be extremely severe. Android devices account for approximately 70% of all smartphones globally; widespread exploitation could compromise a wide range of devices. Users are advised to immediately check and upgrade their system: Go to "Settings → About phone → Android version" and confirm that the "Security Patch Level" has reached 2026-11-05 or higher. Device manufacturers may have different release times; it is recommended to prioritize upgrading to the full patch level.
