Wu learned that members of the Polygon Labs validator support team have released a Polygon Improvement Proposal (PIP) suggesting a hard fork of the Polygon PoS mainnet to recover approximately 70.49 million POL tokens stolen in the recent hacks of Polymarket and Binance, worth about $6.5 million based on October 29th prices. Of these, approximately 23.86 million POL were involved in Polymarket and approximately 46.63 million POL in Binance; the funds are currently restricted from transfer by block-producing nodes. The proposal aims to transfer the POL balance in the attackers' addresses to designated and verified recovery addresses by the two organizations through a hard fork, without changing the total token supply. The proposal will be submitted to the Polygon protocol governance meeting for discussion on November 5th. If approved, client development and testnet trials are expected to be completed in about two weeks. https://(wublock123.com)/news/polygon-labs-proposes-hard-fork-to-recover-70m-pol-stolen-from-polymarket-binance-71344
