[Coinbase: Over 99% of Customer Assets Currently Stored in Cold Wallets, Only a Small Amount Remains in Hot Wallets to Handle Withdrawal Needs] According to Coinbase's official blog, following reports of a hot wallet incident on Binance, Coinbase stated that the company was unaffected and that its systems and customer funds are functioning normally. Coinbase disclosed that over 99% of customer assets are currently stored in cold wallets, with only a small amount remaining in hot wallets to handle withdrawal needs, and excess assets are continuously transferred back to cold storage. Assets in its custodial vault product are 100% cold-stored and isolated on-chain. Security measures include private key sharding and non-recombination during signing, limiting the speed of fund transfers from cold wallets to hot wallets, anomaly detection, and an emergency stop mechanism that allows signing keys to go offline. Customer assets are held on a 1:1 basis and will not be lent or used without the customer's instruction.
