Last Saturday, I drew a line for gold at 3950. If it doesn't rise back to that level, I won't accept it as the bottom. I just checked, and it's already broken through 4052. The line has been broken, so I've accepted the bottom.
But whether to chase it is another matter.
Silver closed up 5 points more than yesterday, and gold is up 3 points. The dollar dropped to 101.41 for one reason only: the Democrats won the midterm elections, so the dollar weakened.
But the same group of people are betting 77% on a December rate hike. A weak dollar and a rate hike don't go hand in hand.
Cryptocurrencies are also rising: INJ is up 8 points, NEAR is up 7 points, and Bitcoin is only up 2 points. Out of 70 major pairs, 59 are up, with a median of 2.5. My NEAR position from 4.0 has returned to 4.10, still a step away from 4.25. I'm betting Bitcoin will drop back to 76K this week; if it doesn't reach that, I'll admit I'm wrong. I won't wait for 4.25 with my NEAR position; I'll exit at 4.1.
