According to Wu Block 123, Hong Kong Legislative Council member Yan Gang disclosed on November 4 that the Legislative Council passed the "Taxation (Amendment) (Crypto Asset Reporting Framework and Revised Common Reporting Standard) Bill 2026" that day, implementing the OECD's Crypto Asset Reporting Framework (CARF). Under the relevant arrangements, eligible crypto asset service providers must fulfill their customer due diligence and transaction information reporting obligations from 2027. Hong Kong plans to automatically exchange crypto asset transaction tax information with cooperating tax jurisdictions from 2028. The reporting content includes information such as user tax residency status, crypto asset buying, selling, and transfers.
