Last night, a fan asked me in the comments section, "What if the Democrats win?" I said: Short first, then go long. Today, BTC's price action showed a sharp "V" pattern, and I suspect many people have been liquidated. The drop occurred between 7:30 and 11:00 AM, reaching a low of 75,738; the rebound started at 11:15 AM and has now reached 78,400. This drop largely coincided with the announcement of the US midterm election results. With the Democrats winning both houses, the market worried about renewed tightening of US crypto regulations and the difficulty in passing the Clarity Act, so they sold off initially. ✅However, after the results became clear, the market started trading based on a different logic: Democratic control of Congress does not equate to control over everything. Trump still holds executive power and veto power, and the US has entered a state of "checks and balances between the White House and Congress." Crypto-friendly bills are more difficult to pass, but radical anti-crypto policies are equally difficult to implement. When worst-case scenarios were priced in, election uncertainty disappeared, and BTC was already oversold, bargain hunters and short covering together pulled the price back up. My prediction last night of "shorting first and then going long" actually came true.
