I genuinely don't want to criticize competitors when they're facing a crisis. What I truly hope for is that we can work together to improve security standards and better protect the entire crypto industry. However, I must say, the recent interview with the self-proclaimed "crypto billionaire" who no longer manages Binance (do you really believe that?) was utterly disgusting. The entire interview was filled with nonsense and misleading statements. He seemed to downplay his own responsibilities and even attempted to excuse his failures by belittling the security of traditional banks. In a crisis like this, we should be seeing accountability and industry leadership. But this interview felt like a constant attempt to shirk responsibility and shift focus. This is absolutely not the leadership our industry needs. Since the events began, this "crypto billionaire" seems unstoppable: 1. One of the most active people on social media. Throughout the crisis, he was arguably the most vocal and active Binance representative on social media. 2. He even had time to argue with Musk. During such a severe security crisis, he still had the energy to argue with Elon Musk (@elonmusk) about investing in SpaceX stock. 3. He repeatedly emphasized that "only 2% of funds flowed out of Binance." It's as if this figure answers everyone's fundamental questions about the platform's security. 4. He continued marketing campaigns to attract user deposits. Even as the crisis continued, marketing campaigns to attract new funds did not stop. 5. He attempted to imply that traditional banks are less secure. How could a self-proclaimed professional leader in the crypto industry make such a misleading comparison? The threat models, attack surfaces, and consequences of security incidents faced by traditional banks and crypto exchanges are fundamentally different. Making simple comparisons without considering these contexts is extremely irresponsible. 6. Almost every statement he made seemed to push a pregnant woman to the forefront of the crisis. He repeatedly added the same disclaimer: "I no longer manage Binance." Meanwhile, the entire crypto industry is paying the price for this crisis: 1. Bitcoin prices reportedly plummeted from approximately $81,000 to $75,000. The market suffered a significant blow during the turmoil. 2. Billions of dollars in leveraged positions were liquidated. Market volatility triggered massive forced liquidations. 3. The credibility of the entire crypto industry may have been severely damaged again. Traditional capital markets, institutional investors, and global regulators may develop deeper doubts about the industry's security and credibility. Having gone through all this, their so-called "multi-layered security defense system" now looks increasingly like a joke. What our industry needs is not more excuses, not more PR rhetoric, but genuine cooperation, genuine responsibility, and effective user asset protection and security standards development. Less shirking of responsibility, less marketing hype, more genuine security investment and industry collaboration. This is what I am more willing to invest my time and energy in promoting. Even if we are competitors, I sincerely hope that we can work together to do this well.
