Binance released an investigation revealing a series of hacks targeting multiple engineers' computers.
Strange Case 1: Work computers were used for job applications and external software installation.
Strange Case 2: One computer was hacked, leading to the hacking of other engineers' computers and ultimately gaining core system access.
Strange Case 3: Using EIP-7702, malicious on-chain authorization was established, allowing the attackers to continue withdrawing funds.
This suggests a need to rethink the remote work model. Technical staff should ideally only work in the office and use company computers. Indeed, exchanges are increasingly centralizing their operations.
