RYFT launches at 16:00 UTC. I took a position in the presale. What makes me cautiously bullish on @RYFTCORP is that I can already point to one reason someone would show up without owning the token. Take Ski Jump. A community member built the game, and RYFT picked it for a leaderboard competition. That gives the creator an audience and every player a reason to challenge a friend. For an AI game platform, making games easier to build solves only half the problem. The harder half is getting people to play what others build. Ski Jump is an early example of how that could work. There was interest going into launch, too. When I checked, 44.62 ETH had been committed against a 25 ETH presale target, with time still on the clock. That’s about 1.78× subscribed. I’d put more weight on what happens after launch, though. Unsuccessful raffle entries are refundable, and presale tokens are fully unlocked at TGE. Buyers who missed the draw and early holders taking profit can both show up on day one. What I’m watching after launch is whether players come back once the whitelist incentives are gone, whether creators make a second game, and whether that activity gives people a reason to use RYFT itself. A busy leaderboard would be encouraging. Seeing players follow a creator from one game to the next would make me more bullish. That’s why I took a small allocation. I like the idea enough to have exposure, and I’d want to see repeat players before sizing up.
