[Aztec Releases Tierra (Alpha V6) Upgrade, Fixing Security Vulnerabilities and Doubling the Speed of Privacy Transaction Proofs]
Odaily Planet Daily reports that the Aztec Foundation, behind the Ethereum privacy Layer 2 network Aztec, has released the Tierra (Alpha V6) upgrade, designed to fix security vulnerabilities in previous versions, including a critical vulnerability found in version V5, and introducing an AI-based security testing system.
This upgrade also doubles the speed of generating privacy transaction proofs, taking only about 1 second on a local device; the time for Ethereum messages to enter the Aztec network has been reduced from an average of about 2 minutes to as fast as 12 seconds. Aztec stated that because the network uses a decentralized architecture, a critical vulnerability requires a network-wide upgrade to fix, which cannot be implemented directly by a single centralized operator. The team stated that the network currently has over 3,000 validators and no centralized sorter or privileged key viewing. (The Block)
