[Anthropic Open Sources FlashProve, a Zero-Knowledge Proof System] Odaily reports that Anthropic has released FlashProve, an open-source AI inference verification system based on zero-knowledge proofs (zkSNARKs), with StarkWare co-founder Alessandro Chiesa participating in the research. This system utilizes cryptographic methods derived from blockchain ZK technology, allowing users to verify whether AI output was generated by a specified model without needing to obtain model weights or rerun the model.
Anthropic stated that Claude participated in system optimization and has now open-sourced the relevant code and Lean formal proofs. The system is still in the research prototype stage, with proof generation GPU time costs approximately 70–95 times that of ordinary inference.
Tests show that FlashProve, on a single H100 GPU, can generate proofs for Meta's 400 billion parameter model Llama 4 Maverick at a rate of approximately 110 tokens per second, with each proof being approximately 19 MB.
