[Shanghai's First Case of Misappropriating Large-Scale Computing Power: Man Sentenced for Using AI to Forge Signatures for Profit] According to The Paper, the Xuhui District Court of Shanghai sentenced Zong Moumou to three years in prison with a three-year suspended sentence and a fine of 40,000 yuan for illegally obtaining data from a computer information system. This case is Shanghai's first case involving the use of AI to forge signatures and misappropriate large-scale computing power. After finding an interface not publicly available on a large-scale computing platform, Zong Moumou built his own relay website and resold AI drawing and video generation services at low prices. He used AI to write scripts to register accounts in bulk, obtain points from new users, and bypass IP registration restrictions and forge electronic signature verification. He illegally called the interface more than 290,000 times, illegally profiting more than 34,000 yuan. The victim platform received more than 4 million accounts registered from the same IP address in a short period of time and reported the case in March of this year.
