[Russian Programmer Kidnapped After Flaunting Wealth, Loses 10.4 BTC] According to a report by Kommelsat on November 3rd, Ivanovo police in Russia have arrested five men suspected of kidnapping, robbery, and cryptocurrency theft. The suspects targeted a programmer in his 20s through photos of luxury cars and overseas travel on social media. On September 6th, they kidnapped him to his garage, assaulted and threatened him, and stole 1 million rubles in cash, an iPhone, and a MacBook. They also transferred approximately 10.4 BTC from his cryptocurrency wallet to an unidentified address, resulting in a total loss exceeding 84 million rubles. The victim was abandoned in a forest after the incident. Police stated that due to a drone strike causing a network outage, the suspects switched to using regular phone calls, which police intercepted and led to their arrest. All five men have prior convictions for serious crimes, and some of the stolen money was used to purchase real estate and cars. They face up to 15 years in prison.
