From a stock price perspective, Maiwell's acquisition of Lite was a lose-lose situation for both companies.
Why? It's simple.
Lite's management's willingness to sell indicates their lack of confidence in the optical module business.
It suggests that in their minds, this was the peak.
Meiwell, also in the optical module business and facing share dilution, was dragged down as well.
When liquidity is fragile, the market tends to interpret things negatively.
