Tether CEO: We Hold Approximately 150,000 Bitcoins, Mining Hashrate Exceeds 50 EH/s In his keynote address at the Plan ₿ forum, Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino stated that few people know Tether is actually one of the largest supporters of the Bitcoin ecosystem, currently holding approximately 150,000 Bitcoins—"not a lot, but honest labor." He added that Tether is further investing in mining: on one hand, it has partnered with others to build one of the world's largest miners, with a hashrate exceeding 50 EH/s; on the other hand, it has launched an open-source mining framework that can be used by both small miners and large mining farms to maintain facilities such as containers and hydroelectric power. Ardoino stated that this system is built on peer-to-peer technology, meaning that even if some parts fail, the rest can continue to operate.
