[NFT Project Robin Guards Questions Crypto KOLs' Fake Marketing: 200 KOLs with Millions of Followers Sold Only 200 NFTs]
Odaily Planet Daily reports that NFT project Robin Guards posted on the X platform, publicly questioning 200 crypto KOLs they previously collaborated with, alleging they purchased fake followers, artificially inflated engagement through mutual likes, and used AI to generate comments. The project stated that the KOLs had a combined following of over 10 million, but ultimately only 200 NFTs were sold, a conversion rate of approximately 0.002%. After the project refused to continue paying promotional fees, some of the previously involved KOLs began accusing the project of fraud.
Robin Guards also alleged that some KOLs purchased fake followers and engagement data through third parties to charge the project promotional fees, and specifically demanded that the relevant accounts publicly respond. They stated that they have obtained some relevant screenshots and evidence, and reminded other project teams that before cooperating with KOLs, they should focus on verifying the account's actual reach, the quality of interaction in the comment section, and historical promotion conversion data, rather than judging the promotion effect solely based on the number of followers and views.
