Wow, Tom Lee is calling for a bottom again: Have you ever seen a guy bearish?
Tech stocks just experienced a major drop, and Tom Lee is back to buy the dip and boost morale. In an interview, he stated bluntly: "I think the market is nearing its bottom."
The AI market is still experiencing a supply shortage; computing power and infrastructure remain bottlenecks, and there's no overcapacity to be seen.
What's limiting AI growth now is capital expenditure and political resistance, not a disappearance of demand.
Customers are still scrambling for computing power, yet the market is already worried about an AI bubble.
He also listed a series of bottoming signals:
The S&P 500 equal-weighted index is bucking the trend and strengthening, improving market breadth;
US Treasury yields and oil prices are falling;
Fund managers' positions are extremely defensive;
Market sentiment is cautious, and stock valuations aren't outrageously high.
He even cited the Binance $6.3 billion hack as an example:
Such a massive security incident had a relatively limited impact on cryptocurrency prices.
In his view, the market has already undergone a round of shakeouts, and vulnerable risk positions have likely been largely cleared out.
