[Serenity, the "White-Haired Stock God": Marvell's Acquisition of Lumentum Has Positive Strategic Implications, But the Share Exchange Ratio Limits LITE's Independent Pricing Space] Odaily Planet Daily reports that Serenity, the "White-Haired Stock God," commented on Marvell's acquisition of Lumentum, stating that if Lumentum (LITE) remains an independent listed company, its stock price is likely to rise after the earnings report is released, especially considering the company's previously announced $5 billion CPO/NPO business (unrelated to Nvidia), with profit margins potentially exceeding 60%, and annual revenue from the Greensboro plant alone expected to reach $5 billion.
Regarding Marvell's (MRVL) acquisition of Lumentum, he believes the transaction is highly beneficial to Marvell's long-term strategic layout and will also enhance the value of other independent laser manufacturers. However, Lumentum shareholders still face uncertainty for more than a year before the transaction is completed, and because the two parties adopted a fixed ratio of 1 LITE share for 4.5 MRVL shares, LITE's independent price discovery space will be limited. It also pointed out that adopting a fixed dollar valuation floor, rather than a fixed share swap ratio, might be more beneficial to Lumentum shareholders.
According to MSX.COM data, at the close of trading on the US stock market, Lumentum (LITE) fell 18.59%, while Marvell fell 12.72%.
