Election week has begun, but what I didn't expect was that Iran seemed to back down at the very start of the week, or perhaps it hoped to gain leverage over Trump before the election officially began—the latter being more likely. However, Trump doesn't seem to care. He just stated in an interview on Israeli television that he's not in a hurry, probably knowing the Republicans have no chance. Even if the Iran issue is resolved now, it won't change the situation; we don't know yet.
Today's drop in oil prices was caused by Iran extending an olive branch to Trump, but Trump completely rejected it. It's unclear whether Iran will retaliate by attacking oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz; if so, the probability of oil prices rebounding is quite high. However, regardless, the US should have a response plan after the midterm elections, as things aren't easy for Iran right now either.
I continued to hold Bitcoin at $76,000. When I saw the news about Iran, I thought I'd missed my chance. Bitcoin:native's rebound was also good at the time, but Trump's continued inaction caused the market to shift from an upward trend to a downward one. If I get it when it expires tomorrow, I'll be fine. If not, the price might drop a bit more.
I'll be away from home for almost a week starting tomorrow. I was planning to go out less this year, but I've probably gone out more often and for longer periods than last year.
