Seeing this cartoon fills me with both pride and immense pressure.
We never claim OKX is absolutely secure, much less that we are immune to any attack. No company can truly achieve that.
But I can say with certainty that OKX always prioritizes security and protecting customer assets as its top priority. Our security record over the past 13 years is the result of over a decade of continuous investment in technology, engineering, security system development, practical experience, and rigorous operational management.
We always approach security threats with a professional and serious attitude, rather than using security as a marketing gimmick.
Behind the scenes, OKX has built a vast array of self-developed security technologies, internal systems, policies, and frameworks, along with ongoing penetration testing and independent audits. For security reasons, many core mechanisms and technical details cannot be disclosed. These are our long-term accumulated security capabilities, constantly being tested, challenged, and upgraded.
One thing I can share with you: since the recent Binance security incident, the entire OKX team has been extremely busy, with many security, technology, and risk control colleagues working day and night.
It's not because OKX was attacked, but because any security incident involving a major exchange serves as a warning to the entire industry.
While some use competitors' security incidents as opportunities to launch marketing campaigns, attract traffic, and seize market share, we choose to focus our efforts on other things.
Over the past period, our team has been working continuously on four key areas:
1. Real-time tracking of stolen funds.
Monitoring the on-chain flow of stolen funds with second-level latency, continuously identifying suspicious addresses and transactions, and taking necessary measures to prevent stolen funds from being transferred or laundered through the OKX exchange and Web3 DEX aggregators.
2. Comprehensive strengthening of market risk control.
Assessing the market risks that security incidents may trigger, further tightening relevant risk control measures as necessary, proactively preventing liquidity shocks, chain liquidations, and potential market crashes, and making every effort to avoid the spread of risk and protect users and the entire industry.
3. In-depth analysis of attack patterns and potential vulnerabilities.
The study investigates potential attacker techniques, attack paths, and vulnerabilities, with a particular focus on the security of the software development supply chain for crypto companies, and emerging security threats that may be introduced by AI Coding Agents and related dependent components.
4. Learn from the lessons of our competitors and re-examine our own security system.
Conduct in-depth and systematic reviews and debriefings of internal controls, access management, wallet infrastructure, and security architecture to continuously identify problems, challenge assumptions, and improve our defenses.
We must not assume that similar incidents will not occur in the future simply because they have not happened in the past.
Security is never a project that can be declared complete; it is a never-ending responsibility.
It requires continuous investment, professional technology, and rigorous execution, and even more importantly, it requires constant humility, vigilance, and self-doubt.
When competitors are attacked, we do not choose to attract attention and traffic through high-profile marketing, but instead choose to work harder to protect our customers and do our utmost to maintain the security and stability of the entire industry.
Business competition should be reflected in better products, technologies, and services.
But when it comes to security, the entire industry should stand together. Protecting customer assets is OKX's primary responsibility, one that it will never compromise on.
Thank you for your trust. We will always remain vigilant and never slacken our efforts, nor will we take your trust for granted.
