[BSC Jenner Hard Fork Introduces Millisecond-Level Timestamps, Enabling Smart Contracts to Read Block Time Precision] Odaily Planet Daily reports that BNB Chain has disclosed that the BEP-706 proposal has been incorporated into the Jenner hard fork. By adding a pre-compiled contract located at address 0x70, smart contracts can now read the millisecond-level timestamps of the current block. Previously, contracts could only read seconds using `block.timestamp`, making it impossible to distinguish the specific time differences when multiple blocks were generated within the same second. BEP-706 allows developers to obtain milliseconds since the Unix epoch, which can be used to improve the accuracy of timed signature quotes, auction deadlines, and price oracle update timeliness checks. This feature is an incremental upgrade and does not affect the existing second-level return mechanism of `block.timestamp`.
