Both MRVL and LITE opened sharply lower, even ignoring LITE's strong earnings report released early tonight. It just goes to show that in a market downturn, the narrative is "MRVL needs to issue new shares to acquire LITE, LITE shareholders want to sell their MRVL shares, and if MRVL's stock price falls, LITE's acquisition price will also fall." But in a favorable market, the narrative might become "MRVL + LITE, a powerful alliance, will capture a large share of the data interconnection market," doesn't that make sense?
