[South Korean Trade Minister: Three Major Projects to Create National Growth Platform, Striving for Semiconductor Factory to Commence Production at Least Two Years Ahead of Schedule] According to Yonhap News Agency, on November 2nd, South Korean Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Kim Jong-kwan stated at a public forum of the National Economic Advisory Council in Seoul that three major projects—semiconductors, AI data centers, and physical AI—will be linked to create a national growth platform. The total investment plan for these three projects is approximately 1.6 trillion won, equivalent to about 60% of South Korea's GDP in the year the projects commence. The government will implement measures such as one-stop processing of permits and approvals and the enactment of the "Extra-Wide Special Economic Zone Law" to expedite the commencement of semiconductor factory production at least two years ahead of schedule. Kim Jong-kwan also proposed the "M·E·G·A" four-pronged strategy: consolidating national strength, promoting the participation of all economic entities, creating new growth momentum, and expanding the impact of achievements.
