[South Korean Stocks Open Lower but Recover, Strong Exports Boost Buying on Dips] Odaily Planet Daily reports that on Monday, South Korean stocks recovered early losses and rose, buoyed by strong export data and a "buy on dips" sentiment. The KOSPI index rose over 1% intraday, after falling nearly 2% in early trading, following Wall Street's decline due to concerns about massive spending by AI companies. Kiwoom Securities analyst Han Ji-young stated, "The stock market has entered oversold territory again, while fundamentals remain solid, and corporate earnings expectations are improving. The better-than-expected October export data also increases the likelihood of the market further revising its consensus earnings forecasts upward." Driven by strong global demand for artificial intelligence investment, which boosted South Korean chip shipments, South Korean exports nearly doubled in October, marking the largest increase in over 50 years. A survey showed that South Korean manufacturing activity slowed to its lowest level in eight months in October due to weakening output and demand. South Korean President Lee Jae-myung pledged to invest heavily in artificial intelligence to enhance South Korea's economic growth potential. (Jinshi)
