[Singapore's STT GDC Seeks $2.4 Billion Loan, Joining the AI Debt Financing Boom] BlockBeats reported on November 2nd that, according to sources, Singaporean data center operator STT GDC is in talks with banks for a S$3.1 billion (approximately $2.4 billion) syndicated loan as the artificial intelligence boom continues to drive debt financing demand from infrastructure companies. The loan is understood to have a three-year term, an interest rate 165 basis points higher than the benchmark Singapore overnight rate (SORA), and includes an option to extend for up to two years. The proceeds will be used to finance STT GDC's assets. This deal further joins the debt financing wave driven by the AI boom, with such large-scale borrowing pushing up bond yields and raising investor concerns, leading to increased scrutiny of the overvaluation of AI-related companies. Data shows that global AI-related debt financing has exceeded $650 billion since the beginning of 2025. Moody's ratings predict that data center-related investments will reach at least $3 trillion over the next five years.
