Apple's Latest Quarterly Earnings Preview: Will Rising Memory Prices Cause Apple to Follow Intel's Post-Earnings Trend? Apple's latest quarterly earnings report will be released after the US stock market closes on November 2nd. This quarter, it's highly likely to deliver results close to or slightly exceeding expectations, but guidance for the next quarter may not satisfy the market. The logic is that Apple still possesses strong product competitiveness, and rising costs are genuinely eroding profits.
Intel's quarterly revenue and adjusted EPS, released last week, both exceeded expectations. The main issue lies in its guidance for the next quarter. Weak PC demand, supply constraints, and cash outlays have collectively lowered market expectations for future profitability. Apple may also experience a combination of satisfactory performance this quarter and a weaker outlook for the next. However, the two companies have significantly different cost structures. Apple has revenue from high-end products and services, as well as inventory buffers, while Intel also bears the pressure of its own manufacturing system, making direct comparisons unsuitable.
This quarter's baseline estimate is revenue of approximately $113.8 billion, a gross margin of 47.7%, and EPS of approximately $2.01, slightly higher than the consensus. However, the outlook for the next quarter is expected to be more conservative.
