[Bloomberg: Prediction Market Traders Go "Street-Sweeping" to Survey US Voters, Viing for Information Advantage in Midterm Elections] Odaily Planet Daily reports that as the US midterm elections approach, a group of experienced traders on platforms like Kalshi and Polymarket have begun conducting on-the-ground surveys and analyzing voter data to gain a trading advantage. Among them, Douglas Campbell, a former Democratic National Committee (DNC) economics professor and election model analyst, has accumulated over $800,000 in profits on Kalshi under the username AlexanderHam, ranking sixth in profitability among election traders on the platform. Another trader, David Bensoussan, primarily active on Polymarket, has accumulated over $1.5 million in profits under the username Scottilicious. His position of over $280,000 betting on a Democratic victory in the House of Representatives has now risen to approximately 94% market probability. Analysts believe that some traders' use of on-the-ground surveys to gain an information advantage has raised concerns about information asymmetry and insider trading. Polymarket launched an investigation this week into suspicious trading during the Israeli elections. (Bloomberg)
