[US Crypto Industry Spends Approximately $63 Million to Block Sherrod Brown's Return to the Senate]
Odaily reports that the US crypto industry is spending approximately $63 million in an attempt to prevent former Senator Sherrod Brown from returning to Congress in the Ohio election. The crypto super PAC Fairshake has spent nearly $56 million, while the Winklevoss brothers' PAC has spent approximately $7.2 million. Including spending for the 2024 election, the crypto industry's political investment in Brown over the past two years has exceeded $100 million.
The latest polls show Brown with a slight lead over incumbent Senator Jon Husted, but most polls show the gap within the margin of error. Prediction market Kalshi gives Brown a 68% chance of winning, while also predicting a 68% probability of Democrats regaining control of the Senate. (CoinDesk)
