Bitcoin is 18 today. Eighteen years. Exchanges, wallets, smart contracts, bridges. The whole industry spent two decades building a house around one idea. And every era had the same question: what new thing can we issue? Era one. Bitcoin invented an asset no human being can refuse to want. Digital gold. Then the copycats came — "I'm digital silver," said Litecoin. Fine. Era two. Ethereum said: you don't need to understand cryptography to issue an asset. Write a contract. Done. Stablecoins were born. Era three. Exchange tokens. Rival chains. Bridges. Everybody had a flavor. Everybody was really just patching Ethereum. Era four. Everyone's asking: stocks on-chain, or AI on-chain? Here's my answer. Putting Apple stock on a blockchain changes nothing. It's the same asset in a new wrapper. Useful. Not a revolution. AI is the revolution. There are two million open models on Hugging Face. Two million. And how many of their creators can raise money? DeepSeek. Kimi. That's about it. Models with tens of millions of downloads — their authors can't get a dollar.
Apps on GitHub with tens of millions of users — their builders can't get a dollar. So what does the world do? It buys five giant AI companies. Everyone. Forced into the same five tickers. Because that's the only door traditional finance left open. That is not what financial freedom looks like. Two million builders are sitting there, and the entire capital system can't find a way to reach them. Not because they lack value — because the plumbing was built for Goldman, not for a 23-year-old who just trained the best open TTS model in the world. Bitcoin was built for exactly this problem. Value that moves without asking permission. Eighteen years later, the people who need that most aren't holding gold. They're training models.
