[Ethereum Foundation Researcher Releases Draft EIP for "Post-Quantum PeerDAS and Variable-Size Blobs"] Foresight News reports that Ethereum Foundation researcher frisitano has released a draft EIP for "Post-Quantum PeerDAS and Variable-Size Blobs." This draft replaces the KZG commitments and proofs in PeerDAS with Keccak-256 Merkle commitments and authentication paths per blob, coupled with LeanDA STARK proofs (recalculating the Merkle root, verifying Reed-Solomon encoding relationships, and confirming commitment-data matching) to eliminate the trust setup and improve quantum resistance. The draft also introduces variable-size lobes (byte lengths between 2048 and 524288, powers of 2, and divisible by 128 columns), retaining 128 data units but with a size that varies with the blob. The execution layer transaction will carry (merkle_root, byte_length) instead of the versioned hash and update the network layer and gas billing method.
